John served as First Assistant District Attorney in Cooke County from 2015 to 2016. Prior to his service in Cooke County, John served as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County from 2006 to 2014. He received a Bachelor Degree from Texas A&M University in 2000.  In 2003, he received his Juris Doctor Degree and a Master of Science Degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. 

Eric Erlandson
First Assistant District Attorney


Eric has worked for the last three years as a defense attorney in Cooke County. Previous to that he interned at the Denton County District Attorney’s Office and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Over the last three years, he has also served as a special prosecutor for the Cooke County District Attorney’s Office. He graduated from Callisburg High School in 2005, then attended UNT receiving a BA in Political Science. He then graduated from Texas A&M School of Law in 2013.

Lisa Decker
Assistant District Attorney
 
Lisa served as an Assistant District Attorney in Denton County from 1986 to 2007. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She received her Juris Doctor Degree from St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio in 1984.
 
Aaron Carney
Investigator

Aaron is originally from Collinsville, TX. After High School, he attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He began his law enforcement career in 2006 at the Dublin Police Department as a Patrol Officer. He later continued his career at the Erath County Sheriff’s Office originally as a Patrol Deputy, then was later promoted to Investigator and Sergeant Investigator. In 2013, he relocated to Cooke County and worked as a Sergeant Investigator at the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office before coming to the District Attorney’s Office in 2015.
